The National Testing Agency opened its official website www.ntaneet.nic.in for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET - Undergraduate) 2020 registrations on Monday, December 2, 2019, at 4 PM. The registration window for the same has been set until December 31, 2019, after which the NTA will release a fresh window to make corrections in the submitted forms.
To make the screening process stricter, the NTA has introduced a mandatory requirement of submitting Class X and Class XII Board roll numbers and mark sheet. In case the student is studying in Class XII, then the Board roll number for the same can be added during the form correction window in January. Additionally, following the provisions of the National Medical Commission Bill of 2019, separate entrance exam and counseling for AIIMS/JIPMER has also been scrapped. Admission to the Institutes of National Importance in 2020 will be done based on NEET scores only. Another change in the NEET 2020 examination guidelines is that the students will be allowed to possess 'Burkha', 'Hijab', 'Kara' and 'Kirpan' during the examination.
The NTA is reportedly also using Artificial Intelligence-based software to scan the images uploaded by the students. The software will be used to flag down images in case of similar images for different applications, and poor quality images submitted. In case an image gets flagged down, the student will be sent a link to upload a LIVE image.
**The examination on May 3, 2020, will be conducted from 2 PM to 5 PM and the entry gates for the same will close by 12.30 PM.
